longing

I live in your longing
hoping to see you again
across the oceans and
lands that separate us

I live in an autumn
whilst you are in spring
we we wait endlessly
for two seasons to meet

I see dark sky of south
while you stare at north
sky wondering why you
do not see the same stars

I seek your fragrance
in the winds that blow
from a direction away
from your lovely adobe

I seek your sight in the
expanse of the sky and
in the depths of the ocean
which have never seen you

I hear your beats when
I close my eye lids, even
for those fleeting moments
hence I can no longer sleep

I seek your resemblance in
this blossoming spring
not knowing that spring had
tried to ape you for years

I wait for your voice, your
sweet lovely voice only
to be told by passing air
that she is heading toward you

I ask the migrating cranes
if they have a glimpse of you
and they tell me, they are yet
to reach your town on the way

I ask the sun, if it can tell
me how you were today
it tells me that its yet
to break over your horizon

I ask the moon if it can tell
me how you looked in your home
the night before and moon says,
it was blinded by your radiance

I ask the moon then to carry my
love to you and convey the
same to you at your doorsteps
when it gets to see you again

The moon tells me it cannot
for the moon is afraid of
falling in love with you and
suffer in your longing too.
