On a night like this

Not long ago, on a night like this

you hugged me, to let me go

and we separated, to lands far away

but the stars, the nights, that were there

still remain, the way they were

longing for that embrace, again

Still hear the sound of that night

still feel the embrace of your hands

tight hold of your arms around me

as the bud covers all its petals

with colors and fragrance hidden

and then in a moment we separated

but  in that moment we were together

i carried with me your essence, aroma

that still keeps my days fragrant

that keeps my heart beating

but then with each day, I long

for your embrace again, my love

to hear the sound of that night

that glitter of stars all over again

because that sound is familier

it comes with your essence, presence

this night, these stars of the sky here

though may look the same as then

but they do not have the same 

life as they had with you around

O love, beloved, you may not know
